I liked this movie a lot, I just wish it were longer (some things could have been better established).

An excellent movie depicting an IRA episode that ends in tragedy for an MI5 officer; and a family member involved in complicity with terrorist acts. It has seasoned actors and good plot formation.

This was an excellent portrayal of the shadowy dances of the IRA and British Intelligence services during "The Troubles" of the 1990s. For those who doubt that these terrible days could return, one only has to look at the very real…

Andrea Riseborough (who played Michael Keaton's actress girlfriend in BIRDMAN) is terrific as Colette, part of a family of IRA soldiers. After a botched bombing attempt in the London tube she is turned by Clive Owen, who plays a British…

This is a 2012 British-Irish drama directed by James Marsh, based on the novel of the same name by Tom Bradby. Although it is a hard-boiled, apparently good spy drama, there must be a script deficiency because the storyline is too…

Glad I watched it (finally - almost returned it without doing so). Good acting, story, etc. The historical Ireland/Northern Ireland split is compelling. I also was glad for subtitles - although I've been to Ireland a couple times. …

First-class acting and an excellent screenplay. The build-up of the relationship between Clive Owen and Andrea Riseborough is terrific. Don't miss it.

How twist does a twist ending have to be, and how logical?

I think this is a pretty good film on the IRA conflicts of the past. Be prepared for an ending which is totally unexpected. For me, anyway.

Wonderful actors performing their parts well. Still surprised by the surprise at the end even though viewers should expect it as agent Mac refused to stop digging into the past.

Anything Clive Owen is in is good, and no exception here. Gripping, suspenseful, with intelligent dialogue that does not waste a single word.

This movie was entertaining and interesting but not one of my favorite for this year. Not too bad---good performance.

The slow, intent pacing of this film, with its watchful camera emphasizes the tragic situation of the characters embroiled in IRA plotting and violence. The families' tragedies are set in a bleak and hopeless Northern Ireland. It is…

When there is a perfectly good plot description given by the library, why do some commenters feel it necessary to repeat it for us? I'd like there comment on quality, not content.

Clive Owen plays an MI5 agent who recruits an agent to go under cover in the IRA (he gives her a choice – either do this or go to prison for 25 years). If you get attached to the characters, the intensity of the danger is almost…

The plot was good and the acting/casting was well great, but I felt that the character building/background and story were a bit lacking for the time frame of the film. I think It would have made a much better series than a film. I was…

A very slow movie, a times not much dialog and hard to understand (needed sub-titles on). Well-acted and very well written but poorly executed.

Great acting, esp by Andrea Risebourough and Clive Owen. Collette is a single mother in Belfast when she is arrested by British police after an IRA bomb plot in London. She's offered a choice: 25 years in jail or spy on her family,…

81 A tense, thought-provoking thriller, Shadow Dancer is bolstered by sensitive direction from James Marsh and a terrific performance from Andrea Riseborough.
