Great story with a likeable cast of characters. In book three, it was great to finally get a face-to-face with David, the ex (what a jerk!). Marcy shows him a little more kindness that some would expect, but emotions in the moment are often hard to rationalize and Marcy is just a flat out nice person. I think in this book I see her developing a little more backbone, although she is still a little too cautious regarding her feelings with Ted and Todd.

I enjoyed it, read it a couple of weeks ago and can barely remember what happened, so it can't have been that great :-) . Typical spunky heroine whose little business allows plenty of time for Nancy-Drew sleuthing.

Marcy's expert hand-work is sought out from a finicky bride-to-be looking to have her future MIL gems embellished onto her mother's vintage wedding gown for a Valentine's Day wedding. When the MIL is found murdered just outside Marcy's shop, making her a prime suspect. To make the situation even more complicated, Marcy's ex-fiancé arrives in town with high hopes of rekindling their lost romance and whisking Marcy back to California. She makes a polite effort to hear him out, if only to make certain she has made the right decision, but he ends up stalking her. The ex's presence does not bode well with the two men Marcy is currently interested in. In the meantime, Marcy feels obligated to do a little investigating to find the killer and put her mind at ease that she won't be the next victim.
