Not an easy read. Have a lighter themed book waiting in the wings.

This book shows the behind the scenes of the concentration camps in Auschwitz. Mr Miklos Nyiszli tells his story of being one of the docters in Auschwitz and what he did that he regrets so much that he never picked up a scalpul again. I would read this a second time. And I never read a book twice!

Incredible 1st hand account of what happened behind the walls of Auschwitz.

The horrors perpetuated in WWII never cease to amaze me. There was an added twist this time—I was on an 18-hour train ride while I read this. After I’d finished, my boredom and numb derriere didn’t seem nearly as bad when compared to the cattle cars!

A moving, personal account. Easy to read. How should one handle unspeakable horror?
