Lenore Lester was perfectly content with her quiet country life, caring for her father, and having no desire for marriage. She took steps to remain inconspicuous and tried her best to show indifference--but to no avail! The irresistible Duke of Eversleigh had found her out and was quite persistent in his affections.

I pretty much loved this. It was everything I want a Regency romance to be, and oh so very rarely find. I could have done without some of the hero's more imperious moments, but since it's par for the course in the genre, I can't hold that against the book. I think the ending was poorly done, but everything else was such a tour-de-force that a week after finishing the book, I don't much remember what I disliked about it. I wish Stephanie Laurens still wrote like this!
