The Hell's Eight is the only family he's ever needed, until he meets the only woman he's ever wanted...

Caine Allen is a hardened Texas Ranger, definitely not the marrying kind. But when he rescues a kidnapped woman and returns her to town, the preacher calls in a favor. One Caine's honor won't let him refuse.

From the moment he beds Desi, Caine knows turmoil will follow. Desi might have the face of a temptress, but she also has a will of iron and while she needs his protection, she's determined that no man will control her again. They establish an uneasy bond, but it isn't enough for Caine. He wants all Desi has to offer. He wants her screams, her moans, her demands...everything. Yet there's still a bounty on Desi's head, and keeping her sexually satisfied is proving easier than keeping her alive.

18/07 - Really hot romance with a good plot as a bonus. I knew I was going to enjoy the story when Desi tried to escape Caine and his brothers by stealing a horse, but couldn't get on the horse - that made me LOL :). I liked the way Caine treated her escape attempt with wry amusement, heaving himself to his feet and going after her at his own pace, so confident in his ability that there's not a hint of worry that she might actually escape him. The fact that this was published under the Harlequin name are exceedingly short and so I've hardly read any because I don't enjoy most of the extremely short stories with everything squashed into 100 or so pages. So, I was surprised to see that this Harlequin was well over 400 pages - a romance of that length gives the reader plenty of space for everything you want in a good romance - sexual tension, romance, a good storyline with something going on besides the sex and well-developed characters that you want to read more about. Highly recommended to romance readers with a preference towards westerns.

I really like Caine and Hells eight but I did not like Desi's character. Everything she says, does and thinks is a contradiction. It is really annoying. Some of the physical acts are impossible and You think a sexual act is actually happening for 10 pages only to discover it didn't happen yet and you go through another 10 pages of it..
