A wonderful graphic novel. Gives insight into the character of Aquaman. As well as the wonderful story, the art is amazing. I was immersed into the novel.

Geoff Johns + Ivan Reis is fast becoming one of my favourite creative duos in comics, and the fact they could get me to love an Aquaman arc basically just sealed it. The story did well to acknowledge all the jokes (I never watched Entourage, but I guess it's "a thing") and then blow them out of the water (wink) with gorgeous action sequences and gruesome enemies. Check it out and he'll never be your least favourite superhero again!

A good start for Aquaman's reboot, the story is above average and the art is better than the story.

This Geoff Johns reboot of Aquaman propelled the book towards the tops of sales charts and the story and art have been superb! This first volume nicely reintroduces Aquaman to the New 52 Universe.

I've been reading quite a bit of DC New 52 lately, just trying them out and seeing which ones really stick with me, and this one? This one totally stuck with me.

Geoff Johns does such a great job of getting you really invested in Aquaman, especially if, like me, you don't know much about him besides all the jokes about how he's a sub par superhero. Johns isn't afraid to address these concerns head on (most of the people in town think Aquaman's a joke) while also showing how great of a superhero Aquaman really is. I also fell in love with Mera, Aquaman's girlfriend, who is featured prominently in this book as Aquaman's equal. (Which she totally is.)

This book totally changed my mind about who Aquaman is as a character, and it made me crave to read more of his stories

A great read!, starts Aquaman off in a good and new light, shaping his personal life and current struggles as well as diving(no pun intended) into his intriguing and relateible past. Really solid art, fits well. The "running joke" on Aquaman does get old after first said though, but all in all I'm interested to see where this story goes.

Ok, I get it. Aquaman is the joke of the DC universe. Everyone makes fun of him for being a 'fish out of water'. But the narrative doesn't get past that one comment. Aquaman never becomes more than the joke. Also, his and his wife's powers are never really exploited to their full coolness. Sure there was one scene where Mera dehydrated a dude in 10 seconds flat, but Aquaman's psychic abilities were never explore further (what is the mechanism for this ability? Why can't he communicate with land animals?). There are better books out there. Go read SwampThing or AnimalMan.

Actually quite a surprise for one of the New 52 books. Aquaman and his wife have chosen a life above water, living in a lighthouse, and find themselves confronting new threats from below and above, as well as distrust or disrespect from surface dwellers. Johns paces himself well here, giving his two leads strong, believable characterization, and he has ideal art to back him up on the title.
