Endearing story about a little Penguin who lives in the snow and finds a pinecone and begins to take care of it. Penguin tries to get it to its home but by then has become attached to it, so leaving it is difficult. Penguin in the end has an unexpected reunion many years later. Happy ending gives readers an opportunity to talk about the difficulty of separation and reunion with unexpected results.

My granddaughter really loved this book, and wanted to read it over and over. She loves pinecones, too!

Sweet book about friendship. My five-year-old really enjoyed it. Not many words per page

A heart-winning, beautiful charmer of a tale about the unlikely friendship between a penguin and a pinecone. Yoon created the simple, kid-friendly illustrations in Photoshop. With plentiful white space and few words, Yoon gives space for the story and imagination to bloom. A fun pair to Philip Christian Stead's A Home for Bird. Who knew that a story about a penguin and a pinecone could be so cute? Short, fun and meaningful.

This book is so fun! It depicts the fascination that a little penguin has with a pinecone! The penguin nurtures the pinecone by caring for it, and by taking it to the forest to live.
