"Inspired by his nine-book Conversations with God series, many people have asked Neale Donald Walsch to find a way to deliver the most essential pieces of God's message to us in a more succinct way. The result is [this] concise text detailing and expanding just what we need to know about life and how to live it"--Dust jacket flap.

Depending on your background, this might serve the same purpose as the red pill from the Matrix.

This is one of those great cons (like The Secret) that comes out now and then. On the one hand, Walsch condemns people for hanging on to ancient religous rites and passages but on the other hand, "god" speaks in archaic prose and only Walsch can dicipher it for the rest of us mere mortals. If you are at the Library waiting for your spouse or kids and this is on the shelf (I found it under next to Sylvia Browne's book on predictions in the Occult section), then certainly pick it up, sit on one of those fine easy chairs and read a couple of chapters. And most likely, like me, have a good laugh and leave it on the table. This is Walsch's interpretation of what life should be not what it is or will ever be.

"A life lived by choice is a life of conscious action. A life lived by chance is a life of unconscious reaction."
