Because Pacific Rim only had the insufficient clout of its pathetic PG-13 rating, all that this "Transformers" rip-off movie amounted to was just director Guillermo del Toro's infantile concept of a 13-year-old boy's wet-dream.

I honestly swear that after the 2nd of what seemed like an endless stream of mind-numbing battle scenes, I had developed a serious case of brain-freeze. It's true.

Predictable beyond belief, Pacific Rim was a mindless mess that held absolutely no surprises, whatsoever. The most damaging aspect of this film's story was that it clearly took itself way too seriously for its own good.

When it came to all of the cookie-cutter characters who prevailed in Pacific Rim, I really resented the emphasis that was placed on a bunch of cocky, self-centered jocks who were the ones intended to save the day. And the quirky repulsiveness of research scientists, Gottlieb & Newt, actually made me cringe every time these 2 despicable twits made an appearance on screen.

At an overlong 2 hours and 10 minutes, Pacific Rim could've easily been edited down to 90 minutes and, believe me, in the long run, it wouldn't have made even the slightest difference to the final outcome of its truly nonsensical story.

If you answered yes to all of these questions, this is definitely the movie for you.

Pacific Rim is a ridiculous monster movie that plays on the fact that it is a ridiculous monster movie. Kaiju's are infinitely more interesting than any iteration of Godzilla, and every lover of every mech anime will want to be a Jaeger pilot. Guillermo Del Toro delivers with his typical gorgeous visuals and enthusiastic storytelling.

This moving is kinda boring I don't recommend. But I do hope Pacific Rim Uprising is better.

A tedious movie suffocated with cliches and awkward moments. Male protagonist who's suffering from a family tragedy? Check. Female protagonist who's tough but with a sad past? Check. They learn to trust and work with each other? Check. Annoying scientists who are supposed to be funny but just end up as the opposite? Check. Hero sacrificing himself at the end to save the world? Check. Hero almost dying at the end but miraculously surviving? Check. A conclusion filled with cheering and celebration that's more awkward than happy? Check.
Only mildly entertaining, 'Pacific Rim' was brought down by poor acting, poor SFX, and a poor plot. Well, the sequel looks better, so I'll watch that.

This movie is like a kid dumped his toy box out, grabbed his Transformer action figures and his plastic dinosaurs, and had them ram their heads together.
This movie is extremely stupid. They could have cut out some scenes, like the bo staff scene. It hurt my eyes as a martial artist to see people who actually knew what they were doing, get beat by an obviously amateur lead actor and a petite woman. Aside from that this movie was so dumb, and really cool. By far the most awesome dumb movie ever made.

I'm a fan of Godzilla so of course I loved this movie. It's definitely a dumb action movie, with giant monsters fighting people in giant robots, so if you don't mind turning your brain off and watching giant monsters destroying stuff you should enjoy Pacific Rim. Like they said in Honest Trailers, it's the coolest stupid movie ever.

Overall, I think Pacific Rim was a great movie. Yes, the good guys won...again, like they always seem to do, but the movie was actually pretty interesting. Move aside all of your complaints, people, and realize how much work was put into the movie. Who has the brains to come up with mind-syncing robots (drifting) that defeat complex aliens coming from a portal in the ocean? Not me. The story was cool. For me, the sequel (Pacific Rim: Uprising) is one of the greatest movies I've seen in my life. I watched Black Panther and liked Uprising better. It even competes with Star Wars a little bit. I liked the fact (in Uprising) that kids owned part of the story too. Makes me (as a teenager) feel great.

It’s easy to dismiss Guillermo del Toro’s crazy-stupid sci-fi thriller at first glance—after all the derivative storyline is preposterous and the script never rises above adolescent comic book schlock. But then you realize that beneath the glaring neon gewgaws and flash-bang effects this is actually a lovingly cheeky homage to every Japanese monster movie ever made. Sure, the hokey neoprene body suits have been replaced by high-tech models and CGI (the multi-eyed Kaiju resemble scaly King Kongs with the noggin of a Joe Dante gremlin), and the old cardboard and balsa wood mock-ups of downtown Tokyo have given way to digitally rendered cityscapes and elaborate Toronto sound stages, but this is still a universe in which Godzilla, Mothra, and Rodan would feel right at home. Emoting seems to be the cardinal rule here and del Toro’s over-the-top special effects are paired with equally exaggerated performances especially by Idris Elba as a stone cold commander, Rinko Kikuchi as the little Japanese girl who could, and the team of Charlie Day and Burn Gorman camping it up as a pair of slapstick scientists who couldn’t have been sillier had they been played by Laurel & Hardy. Even B-Movie mainstay Ron Perlman has a cameo of sorts playing a black market entrepreneur pimped out in gold-plated shoes and wire goggles. The destruction is awesome, the fight sequences hilarious, and the whole production makes you feel like a kid sitting through a super cool Saturday afternoon matinee. Either take it for what it is or give it a pass because del Toro offers no middle ground.

Epicness, epic, with a hint of awesome.
This film is so epic you will watch it saying "epic" your eyes will send messages to your brain that say epicness to the max. Ever seen anything more epic? Well it better be this, because this is epicness to the max. Imagine some one taking all the Epicness in the world and melting it down to the alloy of awesome, and then turn it in to a cup or Goblet for epicness, you then pour the liquid awesomeness and epicness and make it in to a magnificent cup, you then pour every epic made while this cup was created, you then pour it in to this cup and give it to Del Toro, and you get this epicness of a movie. This movie will want you to have more epicness in your life, and this epic of a movie will help you take care of 99.9999 % of that need for awsomeness. 'Nuff said.

This is a terrible movie about Giant robots, who fight evil sea monsters that try to take over the world for no reason.
