I absolutely loved the novel (mostly). However, the ending felt like it was tied up a little too neatly. I was thinking it'd be a lot messier considering this was a time of war and there were people dealing with black magic. It was not until the very end that I realized this was a retelling of the ballad of Tam Lin and I wish so much that it wasn't because I feel like the author had been restricted towards the end in order to keep true to the ballad. If she had not we might have seen a more colorful and intense 'fight.' She had made such wonderful characters with a beautiful story to them and an excellent setting and it ended up falling flat at the end, which absolutely sucks.
