To put it bluntly...

This movie does not work.

A very stage-y production that is very un-cinematic leaves one not entirely certain as to the workings of the storyline. The storyline, itself, is fairly simple: a young, very successful attorney, who is dissatisfied working in a big-deal corporate law-firm, winds-up as a lounge singer in a past-its-prime nightclub ... where he ultimately finds himself recalled to his original profession of the law. This movie is a show-case for the voice of the main protagonist, though he seems to sing "sharp" with a rather un-assured vocal-top, so I don't really understand why he is heralded as such a vocal "find".
At any rate: a rather baffling experience, for which I felt compelled to apologize to friends after "sharing" this movie with them on a Saturday-night.
