The Ammons and Polhamus Family Papers contains photocopies of historic records for the Ammons and Polhamus family compiled by Josephine Reed and reproductions of photographs of the Ammons Polhamus families' homestead at Horse Creek near Deckers, Colorado. Materials in the collection include the homestead applications for Alonzo Polhamus, Theodosia Ammons, Annie J. Ammons and Farita Ammons, all in Township 9S, 69W; newspaper clippings on the Corbin family; and school programs related to Alonzo's time teaching in Buffalo School and serving as principal of Littleton Public School in 1902. Correspondence from the compiler of the records, Josephine Reed, to Douglas County History Research Center archivist, Johanna Harden, from 1996 regarding the family may be of interest to researchers.
