It may be a "classic" but I was very disappointed. A rather shallow, uninteresting story (a lot of repetitive church scenes filled with moaning, shrieking, and being "slayed by the spirit" - it gets really tiresome) about a decent young boy who is always trying to please his awful step-father. Eventually the good boy does just the right thing (although we've been led to believe it isn't something he's actually interested in himself), to trigger some affection from his rotten step-father. The end. What??
