A truly marvelous series of books for children curious about the world and enthusiastic about math (even if they don't know it yet!). Each 2-page layout provides interesting and often amusing facts about a particular subject, and then three math questions of varying difficulty are introduced. The easiest questions are typically no more difficult than adding or subtracting one-digit numbers, while the most challenging involve multi-step mental processes, though even these questions can still be solved without the aid of pencil and paper.

What's more, the author posts daily bedtime math questions on her own website, so even if your family exhausts the problems in all three books there is always more math fun to be had!

Our four kids (ages 10-4 years) beg for Bedtime Math every night. With three to four different question levels, the book provides each child an opportunity to work a mental math problem in a fun, non-threatening way. And it leaves them something positive to mull over after the lights are turned out! Highly recommend for kids who could use some help getting over a fear of math.

These delightful word problems are presented in three levels from easy to difficult, which gives kids the confidence they need to complete one successfully and try for the next! Fun facts are woven into each problem, which feature kid-friendly topics like animals, sports, and food. These are so interesting that kids don’t realize they’re doing math!

A very good math story book for mid-grade 1 and above.
