CLIFFHANGER is better than I expected. A thrilling, edge-of-your-seat action flick is always a delight. The writing is tighter than I expected for something starring Sly Stallone. Yet its intensity and suspense are there, marked with some excellent villainy from none other than John Lithgow. I really enjoyed this thrillfest. I'd recommend it.
I think they really botched an opportunity to name their protagonist "Cliff." And then there could be a line like "It's Cliff! And he's hanging on!" Co-starring John Lithgow, in a rare bad guy role, Janine Turner from "Northern Exposure," and Michael Rooker, this is maybe the best movie ever made about cliffhanging.
The plot may be as thin as the air high up in the mountains, but this is a brilliant action move!
“You know, I have to admit, you're a real piece of work.”
“And, I have to admit, you're a real piece of sh*t.”
