An abandoned tanker ship crashes into the Oresund bridge, on the border between Sweden and Denmark. Onboard are five Swedish and Danish youths, chained below deck, unconscious. Theirs is a friendship from having been through hell together on the job.

the plot thickens in Season 2, thrillingly and inexorably, but could someone please tell me what that singer is mumbling in that numbing, incoherent, theme song

This was another good series but I did not think it was quite as good as Season 1. It is for sure well worth the time to watch, no question. I think one thing that seemed different to me was a mannerism Saga had that I just do not remember in Season 1. She was so stiff at times that she did not look like she could turn her head without turning her shoulders yet at other times, he head jerked and moved like a bird on a tree limb looking around. I found that a bit distracting. I know this version set in Sweden and Denmark is the original of the 3 series that follow the same basic story, but I think I actually like The Tunnel (England/France) version the best. Also, I don't dislike the US/Mexico version as bad as some day.

Really enjoyed the Swedish version. There is also a vey good British/French version, but the US version is rubbish.

Returned because of subtitles.

I'm a huge fan of Scandinavian crime dramas and Bron in my opinion is one of the best of the genre. I watched 2 minutes of the American version after seeing the Svensk/Dansk version. The American version didn't impress me, but this version blew me away. The actor who plays Saga is amazing. You'll love this series especially if you like the genre.

I thought season 1 was terrific but season 2 is even better.

Like Series 1 the complex and bizarre plot does not disappoint, but it's the characters that make you care about what happens. Even the supporting roles like Pernille, Jakob, and Mette are well formed through a few key scenes and fine acting. If you have watched both series and the developing friendship between Saga and Martin, you will find the ending particularly poignant. As the title songs says, "Everything goes back to the beginning . . ."

Fantastic series. Full of unexpected twists and turns. It's so interesting to see a series set in Scandinavia and experience different culture—especially the roles of men and women.

I thought this was even better than the first season- essential viewing.

Martin: Albert Einstein said that if bees disappear from earth, we would be extinct in four years.
Saga: Without oxygen, we would die in four minutes.

Martin: You don't have to laugh.
Saga: I want to show that I understand people's intention to be funny.
Martin: It didn't seem sincere.
Saga: I need to practice.
Martin: Or let it be.

-I'm thinking about the symbol. The frog.
Saga: It's a toad.
-Yes, reptiles.
Saga: Frogs and toads are amphibians.
Saga: The Golden Toad. Found in Costa Rica until 1989. Went extinct due to climate change and pollution. Human influence. A possible pattern. The Tiger Shrimp industry is destroying Mangrove forests. In Sweden there's been a campaign against them. The apples were from South Africa. Their transportation impacts on the environment. Negative human impact on the environment. Hence that symbol. The plague was supposed to point out injustice against the Third World.

Saga tried to make small talk:
Saga: Do you and Mette have sex even if you're not living together?
Martin: No. It's been a long time.
Saga: Who do you have sex with then?
Martin: Nobody.
Saga: How can you stand it? Before you slept around all the time. There is one thing that is good about staying together. Easy to get sex. … Jacob is good in bed. He does what I say.
Martin: That's great. Congratulations.
Saga: Thank you. Are you?
Martin: If I'm good in bed?
Saga: Yes.
Martin: Why would you want to know?
Saga: We're talking about it.
Martin: You talk about it. Stop it.
Saga: But if...
Martin: Saga!

Martin invited Saga to a family dinner:
Martin: Would you and Jakob come to dinner?
Saga: Why should Jakob come?
Martin: He's your boyfriend.
Saga: Do we need to do everything together then?
Martin: Are you doing anything at all together?
Saga: We're having sex.
Martin: Yes, of course... If you bring Jacob I'll get a chance to know him.
Saga: I don't know Mette just because you're together with her. … I can come.
Martin: It was a chance to get to know Jakob. It was just a suggestion.

Viktoria’s Secret, her Bucket List:
Viktoria: To kill my own food was something I had on my "bucket list".
-What's on it?
Viktoria: Why do you want to know?
-It gives a good picture of who you are. Or who you want to be.
Viktoria: I've been skydiving, swam with dolphins, got a flight certificate... Seen the Taj Mahal, slept with a gigolo, eaten fugu... And killed a hen. What does that say about me?
-That you had fun.
Viktoria: I did this too. Pull it down a little. (shows off a tattoo)
-Oh, how nice! What else is on the list?
Viktoria: More than I have time to do.
-Like what, for instance?
Viktoria: I've never changed the tires on a car.
-It seems to be within the borders of possibility.
Viktoria: Going to Nepal. Sing with Sting. … Have sex with a woman.
