Tries too hard to ground itself in the future. With too many distracting visuals, complete loss of the books subtlety and psychological struggle, this one exists. I watch it every so often, just to have background noise.

Ehh. Not fantastic. Also the people in this movie have forgotten what peace is. Peace is not quiet, it similar but still different than tranquility.

Eh. Ok I guess.

The book admittedly does a much better job of getting inside Tris's head, but I found the plot arc of the movie to be tighter in some ways, which really worked well for the pacing on screen. I still find the concept of this dystopian world very intriguing, and I am enjoying the relationship building between Tris and Four--it's nice to have a teen romance that doesn't involve a love triangle.

Unexpectedly better than the first film.

Although also enjoyable, I felt that this film was even further from the book it was based upon than Divergent was with it's counterpart. For example, I felt that Johanna (the Amity leader) didn't have as large of a role in the film as she did in the movie. I feel the same about Marcus (Four's father). I also feel that Tris' guilt about Will's death wasn't as big of a deal to her. It haunts her, but in the book she was afraid to touch guns after the event, but she's fine in the movie. Nonetheless, it was a good film, but varied heavily from the book, which bothered me.

Yes, once AGAIN we have a mediocre writer that some producer who has NO creative ideas reads their book and decides "Wow, i can make money off this!" Another low grade should-be-released-on-TV movie. Didn't see the first, SO glad i didn't, and NOT waiting for the final conclusion disappointment. There are MUCH more professional writers out there that SHOULD have their ideas produced, this is NOT one of them.

I finally broke down and just rented this movie...now I really wish I hadn't spent the money on it. The movie version loses all of the books subtlety and instead it is just an hour long Matrix movie (without the cool concepts). I honestly don't know how anyone who hasn't read the books will understand what is happening in the back story. On a personal note I also really find the actress who plays Tris poorly cast - she tries hard but just doesn't fit the Tris in the book.

Tris: What are you doing here?

Four: You die, I die.

Peter: Oh. Okay, guys, come on. Let's go, seriously. We can do that later.
