After leaving behind life with the Pack, mercenary Kate Daniels and her mate - former Beast Lord Curran Lenart - are having a hard time adjusting to a very different pace. When the Pack offers Curran their stake in the Mercenary Guild, they seize the opportunity. But what Kate and Curran don't realise is that the odd jobs they've taken on are all connected. An ancient enemy has arisen, and Kate and Curran are the only ones that can stop it - before it takes their city a part piece-by-piece.

Omg, Kate and Curran are that couple. You know, the ones who announce their own wedding at someone else's. But other than that marvelous story! So happy with all the lovable characters we still have even after they separated from the Pack.

continues what I've come to expect from the Ilona Andrews collaboration. Anxiously awaiting more!

Another great installment to a fantastic series! Still holds up- the fascination, surprise, humor, action, everything! It doesn't get much better than the Kate Daniels series!

Ilona Andrews never fails me - this book is interesting because it's the first after Curran is no longer Beast Lord and Kate is in "contact" with her father - sort of...

Perhaps if we beg them enough they will keep the series going. Kate and Curran and my absolute favorite couple. Better writing than the Anita Blake series. There is so much more that needs to be written about in this world, I don't want it to end.

Ilona Andrews is one of my favourite authors. Kate Daniels is one of my favourite series. This book doesn't disappoint.
