only the criminals seemed to have any acting ability... the writing relies heavily on trite banter... I'll stick with NYPD Blue, Law&Order, Southland...

Pretty good episodic police procedural with somewhat mismatched partners, that works overall. It did feel like the story was stretched out over too many episodes, but overall enjoyed Diggs & Robertson, their interplay, and the addition of character actors, Tom Felton and especially, James Cromwell. San Francisco scenery enlivens the proceedings too.

Despite the fact that there are number of superb actors in this series the scripts were annoyingly trite and unbelievable. Too many unlikely romantic connections and tiresome titillations. I could predict the outcome after the first episode.

I picked this up and thought I'd give it a try. Glad I did! While they only scratch the surface with the character development I really enjoyed the overall synopsis. Interesting, too, that an entire season essentially only follows one case.

(Season three is in the works - usually an endorsement.) Did not feel engaged with the personal lives of the two detectives who must overcome the usual obstacles in building up the murder case against an entitled contemptible billionaire. However, was definitely captivated in the intricate plot and investigation process. The numerous spectacular aerial shots of San Francisco skylines and landmarks helped to spice up the scenes. A bit slow at times but well above average police drama.

Blunt: Look at it like this, Bill... 2/3 of all human conceptions are spontaneously aborted by nature. 10 million women die every year in childbirth. I just nudged ...

***Spoiler Alert***
Perez: I'm not interested in evidence. I need proof. No alternate theories, no other suspects, no slippery timelines, no room for interpretation. I need 12 cameras from 12 different angles... undeniable, unassailable, incontrovertible proof. The only way I am taking
"xxyyzz" to trial again is if we've already won.

Bob: You went to Stanford and now you're a public defender? What happened?
Public Defender (PD:) Heh. This murder charge is pretty sticky. Three eyewitnesses, fingerprints, Fentanyl. It's not going away.
Bob: Let's take it to trial, Stanford.
Public Defender (PD:) Uh, no. No, that's a bad idea. You'd lose a trial. But, the prosecution's case is a golf course... No weapon, no motive, shaky time line, juvenile eyewitnesses...It's full of holes.

Hertzberg: I thought you'd end up on the supreme court.
Daniels: So did my mother.
Hertzberg: Justice Daniels, what happened?
Daniels: I discovered I like money.

Hertzberg: You know the difference between a C.E.O. and a criminal? Venture capital.
Daniels: You, my friend, are living proof that inside of every cynic is a disillusioned idealist.

***Spoiler Alert***
Hertzberg: He wants to hire you.
Daniels: And I want to go on a date with Beyoncé. Some things in life, David, just aren't in the cards. The question is, why are you still working for this sociopath?
Hertzberg: Every man deserves a lawyer.
Daniels: No lawyer deserves him.
