Examines "35 homes around the world, from the United States, Scandinavia, Japan, and beyond. Some have constructed modern urban homes from blueprints, while others nurture their home's long history. What all of these spaces have in common is that they've been put together carefully, slowly, and with great intention"

I bought this book I loved it so much. There is much beauty in its simplicity. No, my house will never look like any of the pictures in this book, but inspiration is to be found here. A well-worth book to take a meander through.

Each chapter is a creative family story behind a particular design concept. The idea is nice but those concepts are too industrial (or too artsy?), cold and uncomfortable to look at not to mention to live in them. One has to have a VERY minimalistic approach to creating a personal space to come up with something like that. It all depends on your personal taste, no doubt. For one, I couldn’t live in a grey monotone environment and sit on a wooden bench under a piece of art featuring a dot. Thanks but no thanks ;)
