Chef Adam Jones had it all, and lost it. A rockstar chef of a two-star Michelin restaurant with the bad habits to match, the former enfant terrible of the Paris restaurant scene did everything different every time out and only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To land his own kitchen and that third elusive Michelin star though, he2ll need the best of the best on his side, including the beautiful Helene.

OK. It's true. A lot of movies about chefs are rather similar. In fact, when I ordered this I thought, "Have I already seen this?". Literally. I'm glad I chose to find out by actually watching the movie. It was very satisfying. I love food and I love movies about food. I went to culinary school and the kitchen scenes remind me of my training. I'm also reminded why I'm not working in a high-stress restaurant kitchen. The cast was excellent, leaving me to seek films by the performers I didn't already know and wanting to see more of the bigger names, like Bradley Cooper. There are a number of levels and the main character has quite a few different relationships, which is significant since he's mostly not very good at relating healthfully to people. I especially liked Sienna Miller as his Sous Chef and Daniel Bruhl as the restaurant's owner/maitre'd.

A great ensemble piece. A chef does not do it alone. It takes a team, a brigade which becomes a family. Perfectly cast, well directed. Enjoy! Highly recommend.

For me, this film was "an excellent meal" ... smart, funny, intense and made an important point: no one, including the best and brightest, can succeed without the positive support of others.

Fairly predictable and formulaic but the performances are good and it's an overall enjoyable watch.

I had never heard of this movie with Bradley Cooper, so was really glad that I checked it out. The movie provided great insight into what it takes to be a 3-star Michelin chef, and Bradley Cooper was, as always, so enjoyable to watch!

I first watched Burnt on Netflix and really liked it! I think Bradley Cooper and the supporting actresses & actors in this film make the storyline very engaging, which is why I didn't hesitate to borrow the DVD from the library.

Burnt is a fabulous movie although other may disagree. Burnt depicts the competitive European world of French gourment cooking. Thechef is question could described as an "enfant horrible". This movie is somewhat sophisticated & not for the fast food crowd.Burnt elevates the artistic side of cooking & retaurantry. I give this movie five stars out of five. Bravo, well done but not overly done.

Bradley Cooper doesn't quite imbue this role with the truthfulness needed for an addict to overcome his selfishness. For example, he deliberately coerces Helene into working for him, not particularly kind nor gracious. I don't doubt the tirades are common at high-end kitchens, and the pressures intense.

A kind of predictable story about a rock star chef who burns himself out with his excessive self destructive behaviors and now is looking for redemption in one of his old business partner's restaurants in London. I think that Bradley Cooper is not a perfect choice for the main character but he does put some passion into the part. The story and characters are not terribly interesting and it starts to drag a bit in the second half. If one likes this movie I would recommend other films like Big Night with Stanley Tucci,Eat Drink Man Woman by Ang Lee and Chef with Jon Favereau

Some good quotes in IMDb but not this on Burger King - Part 1 of 2:
Mmm. You want some lunch?
-No, not here, no.
Why not?
-I prefer to eat food cooked by a proper chef.
You don't like people on minimum wage?
-Mr. Jones, I'm a sous chef. I'm a person on minimum wage.
You know why people like you don't like fast food?
-Sorry. "People like me"?
Because it's food for the working class.
-Excuse me?
Justify why it costs $500 more to eat at a place where we work than it does at a place like this.

Some good quotes in IMDb but not this on Burger King - Part 2 of 2:

'Cause you can't.
-Because the food here is made with too much fat and too much salt and too many cheap cuts of meat.
You just described most classic French peasant dishes. Burger King is peasants doing what peasants do, giving a cheap cut of meat a little style. Goulash, bourguignon, cassoulet. Shall I go on?
-I really have to go.
What you should have said is that the problem with this place is it's too consistent. And consistency is death.
-Consistency is what every great chef strives for.
No, a chef should strive to be consistent in experience, but not consistent in taste. It's like sex. It's like, you're always headed to the same place, but you got to find new and dangerous way of getting there.

Too many holes in the movie. Keeps you trying to figure out the movie. I liked The movie 'Chef' better... Now that's real cooking. I felt like I got 'Burnt' watching this junk!
