Ross plunges into a highly speculative mining venture which threatens not only his family's financial security but also his turbulent marriage to Demelza. When Ross and Elizabeth's old attraction rekindles itself, Demelza retaliates by becoming dangerously involved with a handsome Scottish cavalry officer. Herein is a lot of the action that comes early into the recent hit TV series; taking the book version is refreshing.

Good Heavens! Ross is acting like an idiot, Dwight is acting like an idiot, Demelza is tempted to act like an idiot and of course, the Warleggens are taking advantage of it all. Good news, one of the mines is finally productive. Will the Poldarks be able to enjoy its success? The drama continues in book 4 of the Poldark series.

An excellent sequel to "Jeremy Poldark." And just like in Jeremy, Warlegan barely appears in the story. Very well written, I can't imagine this new series being able to keep up with its excellence. Although what I saw of the first season they didn't butchered Graham story too much. Highly recommend it.
