Good in the beginning. An interesting premise but it grew stale quickly. Didn’t feel that invested in the characters by the end.

Another good read in typical Beatriz Williams style.

A good read but a little too drawn out.

This was a pleasant surprise: a combination of murder mystery and love story set in New York City in the 1920s. I was expecting a fun, fast-paced beach read but this one had some interesting twists and was very well written. Some of the author's turns of phrase and her evocations of mood were excellent, and I like her feminist perspective as well. Off to find more by her.

Smart, sexy, gorgeously written novel. It was perfect to read on a summer evening in the hammock. I'll read anything by Beatriz (we're on a first name basis, of course)!

This is typical Beatriz Williams fare -- which I mean as a compliment, because I think her books make for extremely fun reading. This is full of what you'd expect from her books -- in other words, wealthy, beautiful people, dark secrets, romance, glamorous high society. The setting of the 1920s is a nice change, and one that seems to fit with Williams' voice extremely well, and it's safe to say that fans of her previous books will find this one equally enjoyable. A perfect beach read for this summer.
