Gotham Academy is haunted!

At the beginning of the term, Olive Silverlock returned to Gotham Academy a shadow of her former self. But thanks to her new friendships and their Detective Club sleuthing, Olive was finally starting to feel whole again.

Then, abruptly, Olive's mother died--or, she seemed to. In the weeks after the funeral, Olive begins seeing her mother around the school. An Arkham Asylum patient with a deadly dark side, Sybil Silverlock was a powerful and complicated woman. Could her spirit be reaching out from beyond the grave? And if so, is it motherly Sybil who haunts Olive--or her deadly alter ego Calamity?

Plus, the kids hunt a werewolf on campus and Maps teams up with the Academy's newest transfer, Damian Wayne!

From Library Staff

The students at Gotham's prep school have secrets, missions, and rivalries of their own. A good introduction to the Batman universe, and a great place to start interested teens.

Good Batman spin-off! A few of the arcs are a little weak, but overall pretty good!

Part boarding school drama, part superhero mystery, all sorts of fun and unexpected. Good for readers who want a cross between Batman and Ally Carter's Gallagher Girls spy-school series.

Do you love Batman? Do you like mystery or horror? You will love this graphic novel. I really enjoyed both the illustrations and the storytelling. This book is perfect to cuddle up with on a rainy night.

Things feel a bit rushed in this second collection of the series that looks at a different corner of Gotham, a school with secrets of its own. Even with the disjointedness and the art that's not to my personal taste, the writer does good work in the characterization of the small group of students that make up the core of the group.

Welcome to Gotham Academy, the book all about Olive Silverlocks and Mia ( Maps) Mizoguchi. Olive's mother went to arkham asylum, because of the one and only Batman. Ever since she has hated bats. With the help of her other friends they try to sneak in to the north hall to discover the truth about the legend of Millie Jane Cobblepot. This book is such a great edge of your seat book that I read it all in one sitting! It's kind of like if a mystery and an adventure had an awesome baby!

Did anyone else feel like parts of this book were just...missing? Scenes just crashed up against each other with no transition. In addition to the art taking a turn for the muddy, it made things hard to follow.

Better than I expected. I'm not a fan of the art (just personal taste), so I wasn't expecting much going in, but the writer really brings out strong characterization in these students, attending a private academy in Gotham City. It is a unique corner of the Batman world, and the writer brings out the voices of her protagonists and supporting characters well.

A supernatural, boarding school mystery set in Gotham. Love it!

A+ comic. This is kind a mystery/horror style Harry Potter like story. Writing is great, art is great, and the characters are interesting and diverse. Great representation of POC and women. I love Maps! She is really into this universe's version of D&D.
