3.5/4 of 5 Good but not as amazing as I remembered it/read reviews of. Kind of random characters/scenes (i.e. classmate reunion), I guess it's setting the mood, character development, etc. but more just seemed to be going slowly/randomly. Somewhat reminded me of tarrantino. I like other coens better

A twisted sick piece of art.

This is Fargo the movie. Don't know what the special edition is, but here's the plot. A small town car salesman has secretly been selling his father-in-law's new cars and is heavily in debt. On the verge of being discovered, he comes up with a great solution: hire men to kidnap his wife. When his father-in-law pays the ransom, he'll give the kidnappers their share and replace the cars. But things never go as planned, especially when the guys you hire are bumbling idiots and so are you. The heroine is a small town sheriff of Brainard, Minnesota named Marge Gunderson. She's pregnant and smart and she gets the bad guys. There are moments in this film when you just can't imagine anyone being so stupid. Which is the point of the film. If you like this one, you might like Burn After Reading, another Coen Brothers' film about two idiots who try selling a CIA analyst's personal memoirs to the Russians for money.

Great new series.

Have always loved the simplicity of the characters and the black comedy in the story. A lot of people really go through life with the tunnel vision that these characters show and I find them all quite funny (and annoying if they get too close to me).

One of those rare movies the gets everything right. Spectacular casting, acting, dialogue, and filming. I can't imagine this movie being any better.

Interesting ans watchable, but the gratuitous violence isn't as necessary as the producers think.

This is on my list of favorite films Ive seen and what can I say, except how much I loved FARGO! Wonderful cinematography as you really get the feel you're on those wintery highways set in the film. My favorite character is Frances Mc Dormand as Marge Gunderson. She is a believable heroine as the lady officer who also happens to be pregnant. I also liked the Steve Buschemi role of the smaller put upon killer, and he brings many of his trademark wittiscisms. Graphic and brutal at times, and yes the constant usage of the word ya can be annoying to some, the central core is the story that's told and takes time to allow you to invest in the characters, and the situations. If you're looking for an excellent must see film, then I recommend FARGO!

As much as I liked "No Country For Old Men," this is really the film the Coens should have won best picture for (suck it "English Patient"). And Cuba Gooding Jr. taking home best supporting actor over William H. Macy is one of the more egregious mistakes in Oscar history. Soon to be a show on FX.

This movie would be great for someone(like me) who likes the intensity of Quentin Tarantino but just can't stomach the amorality. In the middle of all this mayhem, the Coen brothers put in a moral compass with Frances McDormand's brilliant sheriff. Also, the is an "extra" feature called Minnesota Nice, about how strangely polite and weirdly civil the citizens in the movie behave. To me, they just seemed like normal, everyday Canadians! Exotic!

(Jerry) All right. I'll talk to my boss. See, they install that TruCoat at the factory. There's nothing we can do. But I'll talk to my boss.

(man) These guys here. These guys. It's always the same. It's always more.
…..(Went to another office and chit-chat on plans for the weekend...)
(Jerry) He says I can knock $ off that TruCoat. One hundred?

man) You lied to me, Mr Lundegaard. You're a bald-faced liar. … Where's my goddamn chequebook. Let's get this over with.

(man) We sat right here in this room and went over this.
(Jerry) Yah, but that TruCoat...
(man) I said I didn't want any TruCoat.
(Jerry) Yah, but I'm saying, that TruCoat, you don't get it, you get oxidation problems...
(man) You're sitting there talking in circles like we didn't go over this already.
(Jerry) Yeah, but this TruCoat...
(man) We had a deal … Darned if you didn't tell me you'd get me this car without the sealant for …
(Jerry) All right, I'm not saying I didn't.
(man) You called me and said you had it. "Ready to make delivery" you says. And here you are and you're wasting my time and my wife's time. And I'm paying $ xyz for this vehicle here.
