Harper Stewart (Taye Diggs) is a commitment-shy writer and the best man at the wedding of Lance (Morris Chestnut) and Mia (Monica Calhoun). Unfortunately for Harper, the timing couldn't be worse. His new book is coming out and it chronicles his college life with his friends in a less than perfect light. The wedding party reunites college buddies Quentin (Terrence Howard), Murch (Harold Perrineau) and love interest Jordan (Nia Long). As the celebration weekend nears, scandalous secrets begin to reveal themselves... for better or for worse.

Good black dramedy. Fun and talented cast. Well written. The twisting storyline keeps you guessing at what will happen next. Equal parts comedy and drama.

I love it! It is still one of my favorites and in my top 10 wedding movies. It is raw, honest, heartfelt and romantic as well as funny. This movie was in the top 100 greatest wedding movies of all time by a reputable magazine.I highly recommend it!

Well, it's arguably better than other films in its vein, but it felt more like a caricature, with a handful of archetypes and a bunch of happy endings handed out like napkins at the end. It's a wedding movie about a group of friends getting back together and secret relationships coming to light. It runs like a connect-the-dots with lines running from each girl to each guy in a tangled web. THE BEST MAN is acceptable entertainment, but nothing spectacular. I wouldn't recommend it.
