a friend gave me this, knowing of my recent diagnosis at age 33. i agree with the reviewer cspong that some of the messages are very negative, considering how many of us lead productive, happy lives.

kay redfield jamison is an example of someone who has found a management style that has allowed her to continue to practice as a high profile doctor. there are millions more, and painting that as unrealistic definitely does a disservice to the book.

on the other hand, i enjoyed the style of writing - despite a few groaners in the beginning trying to hip it up for the teenagers this book is aimed at, it was nice to read something not so formal or demanding.

this book has helped me, regardless, and i'm glad i found it. stay strong <3
