Just could not get into this book and I tried several times.
I have read most of the books by Rollins but I didn't like this one very much. I thought the Native American angle in the plot was great but when he tried to include the tribes of Israel and the Mormons into it, I think he went too far and instead of adding to the book he actually made less enjoyable and believable
large print only
I enjoyed the conspiracy theory meets terrorism. A run through terrorism, native american history, then natural calamity and end of world scenarios, hard core action, the thrill of fort knox breach. Rollins has imagined all possible scenarios and put into a single book. Hard to put down. There were some moments which were slow. I felt at the end, the problem was solved easily where as the build up spanned >300 pages. But overall good book.
Ridiculous Story Based On The Mormon Religion Presented As Fact!
I read my library's Kindle edition of this book. This was my first book from this author and the story was so ludicrous that no way could I get lost in it.I only hung in there to see if the author was really going to stick with the Mormon Proselytizing throughout the book, which he does,so is this author Mormon, and do all his books have such a plot?
The book was also IMO excessively violent and I did not appreciate the 'F' bombs and other cursing, though scattered.
Believe I will be looking for other authors for adventure books.
This story is a very intense and exciting thriller! There are a lot of cliffhangers in each chapter leaving you with curious thoughts and ideas to ponder! I really enjoy how unpredictable the story plot can be such as when Grayson pierces company gets betrayed and ambushed by a squad of US soldiers who area actually Guild operatives at Fort Knox. Great read!
I like the puzzle theme. National Treasure meets Sigma Force. The Native American element is interesting.
This book is full of ridiculous stereotypes about Native American culture, including Native American terrorists who will stop at nothing to defend ancestral graves. There's the usual golden skull, ancient curses, etc.
Eh? Take it or leave it.
After Dan Brown became so popular, my husband and I started reading James Rollins, and I can't say that we've ever been disappointed. If you like action and puzzles, you'll like these books. Just don't try to relate to them please.
