From the #1  New York Times  bestselling author of  Me Before You  and  After You , Paris for One and Other Stories is an irresistibly romantic collection filled with humor and heart.

"A vicarious jolt of Parisian romance. . . Delightful." - People Magazine

"An old-fashioned, feel-good love story. . . It's as if Moyes has booked a vacation and is taking us along. To Paris. Amour!"  -USA Today
"Dreamy escapism, a book you can curl up with and easily finish over a weekend, with or without a glass of wine." -Miami Herald
Nell is twenty-six and has never been to Paris. She's never even been on a romantic weekend away--to anywhere--before. Traveling abroad isn't really her thing. But when Nell's boyfriend fails to show up for their mini-vacation, she has the opportunity to prove everyone--including herself--wrong.  Alone in Paris, Nell finds a version of herself she never knew existed: independent and intrepid. Could this turn out to be the most adventurous weekend of her life? Funny, charming, and irresistible,  Paris for One  is quintessential Jojo Moyes--as are the other stories that round out the collection.

I deeply enjoyed the Paris for One story. At the beginning I expected the story to be boring, asking myself: "How interesting can it be ? The main character is afraid of everything and everyone?" Yet I was positively surprised. The characters are funny and it transported me to Paris. It is a story of transformation. I gave it four stars. The short stories are too "real life", dramatic, depressing for my taste. I would definitely recommend reading "Paris for One".

Jojo is a star! Her short stories are just as full of pizzaz as her novels. Her subject matter is always a bit more real life than what most novelists are comfortable with (boyfriend ditching you just before a trip for two and travelling solo, nursing a patient who has determined to end his life and actually does.... these are no easy situations. Jojo is right on and involves us from the very first paragraph. Her short stories are succinct and real, and she has the Binchy-esque talent to resume a complex situation over just a few pages. This one is a quick read but won't leave you disappointed.

Sweet quick read. Direct plot with no surprises. Short stories are similar.

I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of short stories and wanted to linger longer with the female characters at the center of each. The stories were centered around romantic relationships, good and bad. Despite the bad, I found it an enjoyable and (mostly!) dreamy read.

I gave it 4 stars for the first story. Loved 'Loved Paris for One'!

PARIS FOR ONE & OTHER STORIES represents a departure for best-selling author Jojo Moyes. It consists of 1 novella which lasts slightly more than half of the novel and 8 short stories, averaging 13-14 pages each. Every tale involves a woman at a pivotal moment in her life. Some are better than others, and while the brevity of each selection precludes fuller character development (a Jojo Moyes trademark), most are entertaining with just enough charm and plot twists to keep your interest. Moyes has a real talent of drawing the reader into a story, and for me this book is no exception. If you’re looking for a quick, light read - just right for a lazy weekend or airplane trip, PARIS FOR ONE & OTHER STORIES may be for you. Also if you’re a Jojo Moyes fan like me, this may tide you over until her next full-length blockbuster is published.

Jojo, Jojo, what would I do without your stories? Your complex characters? Your twists?

Delightful collection of short stories by the author of Me Before You. The longest story is Paris For One, and was my favourite in the collection. Paris For One is the story of a woman who finds herself alone in Paris for a weekend and the adventure she has. All the stories are about women in various stages of relationships. Highly recommended.

This book is filled with short stories about others lives. The longest is a delight with Nell having an unexpected adventure that leads to many changes in her and her life. The others are shorter looks into the lives of others - these are just snapshots of a certain time in their lives. You will have a smile on your face after reading this book which can be done in an afternoon, but will delight you.

Paris for one is the main story. It is the longest of the stories as well. If you enjoy Jojo Moyes other books, you will be delighted with this one. A quick read for that day you need a lighthearted engaging book. I never read any of Jojo’s short stories so they were all new to me. I would say that the best story is Paris For One. So if you are waiting to just read that one, I don’t think you will be disappointed. The main story and title story is only 151 pages.
The rest of the stories are very short and honestly I was glad some of the stories were a few pages long. A couple stories about adultery and or unhappy marriages… they weren’t as interesting to me especially after reading paris for one. if you think the rest of the stories will flow in the same theme, as the first? You could be a little shocked ha-ha. They weren’t terrible, and I am aware most of them are not new. They were new to me so I just didn’t think as a theme they were cohesive with the first story.
This is a book that is great to get from the library. I would suggest waiting for it, instead of buying it.
