The comical, fantastical, romantical, (not) entirely true story of Lady Jane Grey. In My Lady Jane, coauthors Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows have created a one-of-a-kind fantasy in the tradition of The Princess Bride, featuring a reluctant king, an even more reluctant queen, a noble steed, and only a passing resemblance to actual history--because sometimes history needs a little help.At sixteen, Lady Jane Grey is about to be married off to a stranger and caught up in a conspiracy to rob her cousin, King Edward, of his throne. But those trifling problems aren't for Jane to worry about. Jane gets to be Queen of England.Like that could go wrong.

A story that will enchant lovers of the Princess Bride. At 16, Lady Jane Grey is about to be married off to a complete stranger. There is one very large problem in this comedic fantasy and you will have to listen to find out what it is.

The cheeky & over-the-top narration is perfect for this hysterical (almost) historical story that gives you hope and laughter whenever you need it most. I tried to find reasons to drive around just to finish this book!

The characters were written in such a juvenile way (and part of that could be the way the narrator read them) that I could not enjoy it. The fantasy aspect didn't particularly bother me, but the way English royalty was written like a modern high school sitcom drove me nuts! Elizabethan history is my first historical love and so I think I'm too attached to the Tudors to have enjoyed this book.

The narration took the perfect tone to make this story come to life in the most magical way!
