Fascinating stories and recipes from the Deep South - and food as a pathway to understanding each other. Beautiful and BIG (500+ pages)!

I loved reading this book even tho' i'm not fond of some of the ingredients. Highly recommend it if you enjoy cookbooks with great recipes and the stories behind them. Vivian has a warm amusing way of writing that entertains while you learn about a very different way of life than California.

I'm a big fan of " It's a Chef's Life" It's a down to earth farm to table show. The Cookbook was nice to read but i was hoping for something a bit more simplistic.
