"Lauren Fern Watt moved to New York City after graduating from college, and she took her enormous 160-pound mastiff, Gizelle, along for the ride. It wasn't easy, but Lauren managed to find a dog-friendly (i.e., tiny) apartment in the middle of it all--Times Square. Throughout her twenties, Gizelle always was there for Lauren: her first job, her mother's struggle with addiction, and the challenges of becoming an adult in the big city. So when Gizelle got sick and Lauren realized her best friend might not always be around, she designed an epic bucket list to make the absolute most of the time they had left. A heartwarming adventure, Gizelle's Bucket List is about how a dog can teach humans the power of unconditional love and the value of each precious moment.

Easy read and entirely relatable for anyone who has a pet. Reinforces the comforting relationship humans and animals have with each other.

"It's weird," I said. "I feel [Gizelle] around me all the time. I feel her presence even now, walking with us." I held my arm out in the air like I was holding her leash, imagining her following us to enjoy steak frites and red wine and mussels on this cold winter night in New York City. She'd prop her head on the table and smile at us.

"I feel that too," Caitlin added. "She's definitely around. But you know what? You know what really reminds me of Gizelle?" ... "You do Lauren. You remind me of Gizelle. When I'm with you, I feel like I'm with her."
