Interesting premise, great art (although I found some panels particularly gross!), diverse characters! I just felt it lacked follow-through for all of the build-up on the various story lines. I'll definitely be checking out the next volume for more!

A Wisconsin high school is mysteriously teleported to an alien plant. This of course bring out the who is in charge the adults or the students. The story follows a few different students. Some have gone out into the forest of the new alien planet in search of answers. The others have stayed at the school and are engaged in the power struggle that the school has become, as one of the gym coaches uses the principal to establish a heavy handed rule that the student government president is fighting to upend. Overall its a fun one. The art is great and the writing is polished. Its still lacks something to take it to the next level, since all of the themes were a bit predictable, but the ending makes me hopeful that vol 2 will add some interesting twists

Interesting story and decent writing/artwork. Worth a read.

Must be for billionaires' kids and cost a million dollars a semester (school supplies, room and board extra) to have such a teacher/student ratio.

The students of Bay Point High School are just going about their normal lives when all of a sudden, a blinding flash of light fills the air. When they look out the windows they discover their school has been relocated to the moon of an unrecognizable world. Let the fun and games begin. Almost immediately this place's inhabitants prove how hostile they are, but, for some, greater danger actually lies within their walls. One teacher starts to implement martial law, punishing any who don't listen, however there are some students that know they need to cooperate to survive. This is just one half of the story, for early on, a group of six students left; the creators deftly juggle two or more threads at the same time. Standing just outside the school is a marker pointing towards the vast woods that surrounds it. Somehow the self-proclaimed genius of the bunch understands some of what is going on, and gathers those with some survival skills. In such a stressful environment, any attempts at collaboration quickly fall apart even though they need to work together more than ever. The predominant use of purples serves the dual purpose of creating an eerie atmosphere, and an otherworldly look. Monsters too are strange shades of either purple, blue, or green, and to further enhance this factor they are either multi-limbed, or have two sets of hollow eyes. Our nerves do get some relief every now and then with a bit of comedy and character interaction. The title may seem innocuous, but these woods have many surprises waiting within them; there is death, some gore, and the worst qualities of humanity come out. This is survival horror on another planet.
