Elementary school teacher Jacqueline Jacks Morales's marriage was far from perfect, but even in its ups and downs it was predictable. Familiar. Or at least she thought it was, until two police officers showed up at her door with devastating news. Her husband of eight years, the one who should have been on a business trip to Kansas, had suffered a fatal car accident in Hawaii. And he wasn't alone.

For the last couple of months, I seemed to be stuck reading so-so books & and some I didn't even like enough to finish.
But I hit gold with this one!
Jacks (Jacqueline) finds two policemen on her doorstep who proceed to tell her that her husband, James, has died in a car crash in Maui, Hawaii. And the woman with him was also killed.
Well, this is a surprise for Jacks....or rather two surprises. First her husband was supposed to be on a business trip to Kansas. And second, a woman with him? What woman? Who was she?
Yes, yes....there have been many books in the past couple of years with this same scenario. Woman loses husband then finds out husband has a girlfriend, or a 2nd wife or another wife and family! I've read all those too. I almost didn't request this book because I found myself thinking "Oh. I've been through this before. Do I want to do it again?"
Well I am VERY glad I decided to do it again! This book is different from the other ones. AND half way through, I couldn't put it down. I neglected chores, studies etc. because I wanted to keep reading!
That's all I'm going to say about the book. Check it out (I think you'll have to put it on hold first) and start reading. I stayed up until 2 am to finish the last 1/3 of the book. It had really grabbed me!
