mostly wordless, encourages interaction and thinking with the reader, to do lists are more fun when you do them together and make them more exciting.

This delightful story of a father at home with his young son feels familiar and relate-able. Dad has a check-list of things he must accomplish during the day, but son has other ideas for the day that include hanging out with dad. They accomplish the to-do list together and turn bed making into pirate ships at sea, and cleaning dishes to bubble wars. It is charming, short on words and long on illustrations and sentiment.

A fun, colorful story that features a father and son doing chores. I always love when a story features a special father/son relationship, and this one does not disappoint!

What's a kid to do when Dad has a long to-do list and none of it sounds like much fun? Why just get your trusty crayon and edit that list! "Make the beds" becomes "Sail a pirate ship", and "Hang the laundry" becomes "Join the circus". I love the illustrations, which look like bright, colorful, scribbly drawings of a child. Also, the spare text gives readers lots of opportunities to talk about the illustrations as you read!
