I have to wonder if Neil Dudgeon ever appears to be excited, to give a jump in the air, a punch of victory, a laugh at anything funny? As for the so called mysteries they all appear to fall into the same rotted corn crib. I miss the old crew. Whoever writes these never puts into them people I want to be around.

Half star bonus for all the cute bunnies. New characters have all the quirks and charm of the old ones.

Thoroughly enjoyable for mystery fans, all four stories. John Barnaby's new assistant Winters is a bit of a challenge; he's not as compliant as assistants should be. And the Barnaby's new dog turns out to be a challenge too, the dog preferring modern rules cricket, an anathema to Barnaby. And then there's the incident with the badger. You'll have to watch to see what I mean. Time to pop some popcorn and enjoy.

I felt it was a bit cluttered now with all the new players, extras and modern things, compared to the previous episodes, and has lost some of its surrealism, weirdness, and creepiness.

Rated 10/10. As usual, this series is excellent. It's too bad that the decision has been made to break series 19 into two parts; to make more money, I guess. Other than that, the new guy seems to be fitting right in. I'm looking forward to part 2.

A good series. From the first to the nineteenth and beyond.
