A wonderful bio about a great woman and my hero. She's a marvelous beacon for women of all ages. We can and must rise above where and what we have come from.

This PBS American Masters documentary is pretty straightforward but great because Maya Angelou led such a fascinating life. She was brilliant, charismatic, inspiring and amazing all around. The film does a good job of capturing that as well as her impact on the people she knew and on the world. I had not seen her son Guy Johnson speak about her before, and I thought his input and their relationship were especially interesting.
