I initially just tried a Michael Brandman book because he'd written the first few Jesse Stone books after the passing of Robert B Parker. Thought he wrote Jesse well, wondered what his own characters would be like. And this book is very good. Interesting characters, good murder mystery / police action story … looking forward to more from Brandman.
