As always, Tim Pratt’s novels satisfy. I loved the first half of the book especially. This won’t be a surprise to anyone who knows me — I love character development and world building and origin stories, etc. All of that is excellent here. The latter half of the novel is more the thrill-ride, extended action sequence stuff. That’s fun, for sure, but tends to hold my attention a bit less. I think this is the part that most people will really love. I can’t wait for the next book and I’m glad the title of this one meant what I thought it did. Also, the Liars may be some of my favorite aliens ever.
