Great book series. It is comparable to the The Walking Dead tv show, but the books are always better!

As an inveterate read of most things post apocalyptical, I have more than a little trouble with the first book. In fact, I am going to stick with the series (I read all the Angery American books, too, which proves my gluttony for self punishment), but I am not too hopeful.

Basically, the protagonist is the most inept of all times. In the first couple of days, he loses his souped up auto, loses his solar powered house, and his well concealed and protected bunker with all his supplies. Believe me, these are not spoilers.

Over the course of the next few days, the mistakes he makes belie his superior training, and it continues to roll downhill from there. The phrase" I'm from the government and I'm here to help" becomes apocalyptical in a post apocalyptic world. This series has the potential to be even worse than the Home series.

Props to the author for knowing his audience, though, and getting this series published.

This book ended up being much better than I expected, (though I'm not sure exactly what I expected). It was interesting and thrilling and kept me up late into the night because I couldn't put it down!

I would recommend this book and series to anyone who is into the post-apocalyptic genre because you will be pleasantly surprised. Can't wait to read the rest of the series!

It makes you feel as if you were a soldier, and you realize that even though he has a great, safe house, he has to abandon it and face something very ugly.
