This production is mainly for those who read Comey’s book “Higher Loyalty” or plan to read it, but didn’t get a chance to. It had left-leaning bias (while the book was more neutral), and Trump and his team came across as caricatures. Brendan Gleeson didn’t have the “fire and fury” or what others call charisma that Donald Trump exudes. So that was a letdown. Two actors who did shine in their roles were Jeff Daniels as FBI director Comey and Michael Kelly as his deputy McCabe.
I believe more in collusion because of this movie. Donald Trump is a dealmaker. He wanted to build Moscow Tower. It was noted in the movie that Trump had a few on his team that were involved with Russian dealings (one is one too many), which understandably concerned the FBI in protecting the U.S. from real or cyber attacks. So my question is, did Trump make a deal with Putin? Is that why he is so anxious to get back to the presidential office or claim that the election was stolen from him? What does he owe? I don’t think it is something as romantic as Putin grooming or blackmailing Trump (but it could be), but the simple fact of wanting more cold hard cash.

Well, if like me, you have a love/hate relationship with Comey (did he put Trump in office due to misplaced sense of duty?), this movie won't move the needle one way or the other. Good acting (with some uncanny lookalikes in the secondary roles) and a sense of drama in spite of knowing how the story ends. The movie is based on Comey's first book (I'm reading the second now) so the slant is pro Comey of course. But I'm still haunted by what might have been if he didn't feel he had to share info that implied a crime only to say a few days before the election, no, that didn't actually happen. Sigh. But I'm not sorry I watched this.
