This book is funny and good. It contained many stories with different story lines and people. But, it basically always started like there was once a boy called ___ or In a town lived a person called ____. I liked the stories a lot, and my favourite one was the prankster one. I wouldn't give it a 5 star because many stories gets a little boring and it should have been a couple big stories.

I personally think this book was great. This book had many stories, some short some long. Personally I think the "scary books" part was a joke(not sure), because personally these stories were fun, funny and not really scary. I recommend this book to those who read other Jeff Kinney books such as Diary of a wimpy kid. I also recommend this book to the people who like small stories in one big story, fun books and maybe little scary books. If you think zombies, mummies, aliens, ghosts and other spooky characters(although they are not scary in this book) this book would be great!

This book is very funny while slightly spooky at the same time. While there are scary elements such as zombie invasions, ghosts, and Frankenstein-style mad science, the images, plot line, and text are more funny than scary. For example, when Rusty's friend comes back as a ghost after dying, it's annoying for Rusty but not exactly scary. I also like how there's a lot of variation of different scary stories instead of using just one theme or using a few different themes several times. What I mean is, there is a huge variation of what makes each story slightly scary, including a creepy cellar, a mummy coming back to life, vampires, and werewolves. Overall this is a great book and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good laugh.
