The larger two-story part of the building is made of stone, and the one story part of the building is made of wood. The lower level of the two story building is mostly glass, with large windows and recessed doors. A windmill and a watertower are in the back of the building. The frame house, next to the store, has a pitched roof, a brick chimney, gingerbread trim and a front porch with balusters. The yard of the house is surrounded by a wooden fence. The family stands in the yard and on the porch. Small trees are growing in the yard. Denver and Rio Grande Railroad tracks (with third rail) are in the foreground.
