I liked this, but the end was somewhat dissatisfying. I would've been happier with even a short prologue that said, Trixie found happiness, Daniel got the recognition he deserved with his career and Laura got out early for good behavior - or something. So much of Daniel's piece of the story was devoted to his successful career that he had put on hold, it would've been nice to see if his graphic novels took off or not. This promising friendship, possibly romantic, between Trixie and Willie was introduced - you know (or are lead to believe) that nothing between them is pursued. But the fact that Trixie was able to overcome her reluctance towards men is huge. Does she return home able to start to put her life together? Hmmmmm - loved the premise of the book. Especially as a mother of a young girl. Just wish certain, secondary aspects would've gotten some closure. The other thing that bothered me was Seth's confession - certainly Trixie recognized her mother's lover as her drug dealer, when Trixie answered the door obviously Seth recognized her. You're lead to believe that he told Laura, but are never included with the aftermath of that conversation?????

The writing is incredible, the story is riveting.
The ending is a surprise.
The content is not easy to take. Not a light summer read
