From Greg Mottola, director of Superbad and Paul, Adventureland is a coming-of-age movie John Hughes could have made. It takes place during the summer of 1987, is funny, a somewhat relatable reminder of first job experiences, and has an incredible soundtrack. Adventureland is rated R for language, drug use and sexual references.

This is the whitest, middle/upper classiest, suburbia-est movie I have EVER seen. There was maybe one black character with exactly zero lines who was partly cropped out for most of her scenes. Martin Starr was the only character worth anything. It's exactly the kind of movie you might expect when the premise is a rich white kid forced to get a summer job surrounded by other suburbanish white kids all "just trying to find their way in life". Vomitrocious.

Better-than-average teen-centered comedy.

one of my all time favorite movies!!! Great soundtrack! This is one movie I rewatch fairly often!

In many ways, this is more of a coming-of-age film than a straight up comedy. If you're looking for something fun, or have a short attention span, you'll probably want to look elsewhere. However, if you want to see a film about two teenagers on the cusp of adulthood who struggle with relationships and life, this one might be for you.

The film had a decent cast and good feel but the plot was obvious and not engaging especially as most of the characters were people you could laugh at occasionally but really couldn't care about. Not nearly as good as similar films like Knocked Up or Superbad.

I really liked Adventureland, even though I find this movie was more of a drama- coming of age story. This is not the comedy that I had expected from the trailers. Yes, there are a few funny parts. But it wasn't all comedy. I would recommend this movie to fans of 80's era movies, as it tends to stick to that same theme, not to mention it takes place in the 80's.

To me this movie is one of a few to be used as proof that Kristen Stewart is not only stunningly beautiful but also a talented actress. Hilarious, coming-of-age story about young people working in a terrible amusement park, set in the early 90's I believe?. Very well done.

This turned out to be possibly the most boring movie I have ever seen. It was trite, predictable and the pace was excruciatingly slow.

Not even worth the watch.

A comedy set in the summer of 1987 and centered around a recent college grad who takes a nowhere job at his local amusement park, only to find it's the perfect course to get him prepared for the real world.
