Wait to read Pegasus until the companion book Robin McKinley intended to write is available.

The ending of Pegasus is so abrupt I thought there was a problem with my electronic copy of the book. The ending was jarring; on some level I feel betrayed by the author. I have read all of McKinley's books except Shadows; I wish I knew what led her to cut Pegasus off before it was complete.

I have reread Robin McKinley's Pegasus novel and this is a wonderful book. There is a lot of energy and flow with a shocking cliffhanger. The sequel, Ebon is still forthcoming.

Don't read this book. Or at least, not yet. Wait for book 2, maybe even 2&3 to come out, THEN read this book.

This book has a WONDERFUL cliff hanger ending.... If the other books decide to show up, you should definitely read it, BUT It's been 7 years, and the author is not currently trying to get them published and at last report has stopped working on it.

I'm sorry.

I loved this book, and I hope that others do to. It was amazing, and wonderful, and totally mystifying all together. I am so excited for the sequel, but it can even be a great book on it's own. However, the ending wasn't so strong, and should have been worked on a little more. Hoping that the author can release the next one soon. I totally recommend this book for real bookworms, who especially like fiction. And if you don't mind being put on edge, and having chapters that can take about half an hour to read, then totally read this book!!!

What? WHAT? W. T. F. !!!! Where is the rest of the book? Perfect classic sword/sorcery/talking-animals gorgeous fantasy storytelling, I loved it -- real I-believe-in-magic love -- right up until the horrible last page. Give me the sequel and you can have the other four stars back, author! ***SPOILER ALERT*** for anyone else who's finished the book and outraged, ye olde interweb says the planned next book backwards is called nobe, which of course is a great relief to know even if the bloody author is all George RR Martin and may likely die before bothering to write it.

this book is a little dull at first but then it gets better!!!

I really like the plot and want to read the sequels (apparently it is one continuing story, but three books, sort of like Lord of the Rings). However, it was sometimes hard to follow. McKinley is a great writer and it was written cleverly, but I found it kind of disorganized. I am assuming she did this on purpose, but like I said, it made it harder to follow what was happening. I recommend it for fantasy and horse lovers.

The story and story world are very good. But the book could have benefited from an editor's help. Specifically, the author has a tendency to linger over paragraphs in which the main character's thoughts goes in circles, which does not move the story forward and just bores the reader (who usually knows more than the character does). On that note, the Underlying Dilemma is very interesting, but the reader figures it out within a few chapters, while the character spends the entire book wondering if anything is even going on.

The book ends with an awkward non-ending. It seems as if the last dozen chapters were left out of the book. It would have made more sense with the addition of the words, "To be continued..."

Published in 2010 but here we are at the close of 2014 and there's still no sequel. Apparently if/when it is published, the title will be Ebon.

This book is amazing. I can't wait untill the sequal. Everything is in great detail and sounds amazing. I wish it could happen to me. At the end you have a cliff hanger that makes you begging for more. It's amazing.
