Brooke and Kathryn used to be best friends but now they're enemies. They come from opposite ends of the school's social spectrum. Brooke is rich and popular, Kathryn is neither. They both have only one thing in common and that is their love of music. Both of them are great singers and they have to compete against each other to win the Blackmore, a prestigious music competition that comes with a college scholarship, something Kathryn desperately needs. The book alters between their senior year and their junior year, how they met and why they both became enemies. I didn't think I would really enjoy this book but I definitely stand corrected. This was an amazing book and I recommend it to anyone who wants to read a novel about the importance of friendships. 5.5 stars.

I really enjoyed how the author made the two main characters different in some ways...one was popular...one was an outcast but they both loved one thing. Music. It was very easy for me to relate to the main characters and I admired that! I finished this book a long time ago and I'm still thinking about it! Please take this into consideration and read this amazing book!

I was expecting a much better book. It wasn't that good - in truth, it wasn't so much the writing as the content. The lanuage was more vulgar and I didn't like the one girls' story. but, the author still made me want to keep on reading.

I truly enjoyed this book. I wished that it had never ended.

Very realistic telling of the rivalry between two former friends, both of whom are competing for a prestigious singing award/scholarship in the near future. I love how the author used music terminology to set up the parts of the book; very clever way to set the tone.

Im singing because I can.
Not for money, not for recognition, not for revenge.
But simply because it is wonderful.
