Alice's Tea Cup

Delectable Recipes for Scones, Cakes, Sandwiches, and More From New York's Most Whimsical Tea Spot

After watching 'Black Butler', both seasons, my 14 year old informed me we must have a tea party, complete with different teas, scones, cookies and assorted foodstuffs. The hunt was on for good tasting recipes that would suit American palate and still work with tea cakes and china cups/saucers. I have found such delight in making these recipes (so far...haven't made it out of the scone section yet) and my coworkers are also delighted, as they are the recipients of the extras not consumed at home. There are a few drawbacks so far. Mainly being, the recipes don't match the pictures. Even trying to match the ingredients as closely as possible, nope, not happening. With a bit of tweaking, they work well and are delicious. I liked the book so much I purchased it (after checking it out from the library and realizing I just how good the recipes are) and we are planning a Mad Hatter party, complete with requiring hats/head pieces and silly verbiage ;-)
