Oh, my; the British! Let's take a fastidious, dapper fellow who demands order, cleanliness, routine, and a proper cup of tea, then transplant him to the most laid back, sandy, lizard infested, tropical island we can find. D.I. Poole works alongside a group of islanders in shorts and short sleeves in his three-piece suit, properly knotted tie, black socks and wingtips--and yes, he does suffer heat stroke at least once. In case that isn't enough conflict, the writers throw in that the only place to get that cuppa is from a French woman who detests him. Sigh. Oh, and then there are murders to solve! Lovely nod to Agatha Christie as Poole gathers everyone to watch his big reveal as he names the murderer. Some laugh out loud moments, lots of smirking at fastidiousness, and more smiles per episode than a sitcom.
