[Update, 3/15: In light of the assassination of Putin's political rival in Russia, read this book to see that Russia, and America, really aren't all that far apart.] Tanenbaum writes, ``what you are about to read is, merely and entirely, a work of fiction, based on a real event. Like the Warren Report.... Mr. Tanenbaum should know, he was the chief counsel on the JFK investigation by the House Select Committee on Assassinations, circa 1976-78. Those of us who worked for him recall that, although ostensibly fictionalized, this is as close to reality you will get - - and that the committee's investigation was shut down by the CIA as soon as we got close to them! [five stars for accuracy to reality, but this was Robert's first book, so he hadn't yet gained experience in writing]
